At Pokesdown we believe that all children deserve to grow up happy and healthy, with the life skills to understand themselves and the world around them and be prepared for the opportunities and challenges of adult life. As a school we follow a religion and worldviews approach, enabling our pupils to consider religion and worldviews as lenses through which people experience themselves, others and the world.
We follow the agreed BCP agreed syllabus and use Jigsaw RE. Through enquiry questions we learn about Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Sanatana Dharma, Sikhi and Humanism. We teach RE through blocked days, assemblies, reflection in the round and more to enable the children to fully immerse themselves in the enquiry questions they are exploring.
