Year 6 have had another busy few weeks. Following on from our successful outcome, at Hengistbury Head, we have begun a new project called, The Island. It is based around a short story about a stranger who appears on a remote island. It focuses on the feelings and emotions linked to refugees and has created many opportunities for creative writing. Creativity has been key, as the children have worked together to create exciting dances and have produced some brilliant Picasso paintings, using only blue paint, to express emotion.
We are lucky enough to have linked with our Reception children as our Buddy classes. The Year 6 children thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to engage with the younger children and are excellent role models..
