SEND Information

Pokesdown community Primary school is a two-form primary school and can accommodate up to 420 children. We currently have 10 children in the school with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Within, our school we view every learner as an individual and believe everyone can learn the skills necessary to reach their academic, creative, physical and spiritual potential through our teachers practising ‘quality first’ teaching and our ongoing adaption of the children’s learning to meet their needs. Some children will require extra support or resources to enable them to access the curriculum. These children are identified as having Special Educational Needs or a Disability (or SEND)

Our school's  Special Educational Needs/ Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCO), who is responsible for the management of provision and support for identified pupils with SEND is Mrs Sarah Close. If you have any questions or queries please contact Mrs Close through the school office on 01202 428982.
